Chandigarh, Jan 16 (Reporter) Elderly individuals from underprivileged families in Haryana will be taken on a pilgrimage to the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj at government expense, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced on Thursday. The initiative, under the ‘Mukhyamantri Tirtha Darshan Yojana' (MTDY) launched by the state government, will facilitate the travel of citizens from all districts of Haryana to experience the Mahakumbh, Sani said here. The Chief Minister was presiding over a meeting of Administrative Secretaries where the state government's achievements over the past 100 days were reviewed. It is noteworthy that under the ‘MTDY', eligible elderly citizens aged 60 and above are already being sent to Ayodhya for the darshan of Ram Lala. The scheme also includes visits to Mata Vaishno Devi and Shirdi Sai Tirtha. Now, the scope of the scheme has been expanded to include the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj. Saini said that during the first 100 days of the current government, several significant steps have been taken for the development of all sectors, including agriculture, education, and health.
