Hamirpur (HP), Jan 20 (Reporter) Session Judge, and Special Judge, Vikas Bhardwaj, have sent two people named Shivam Patyal and Satish Kumar of Mohin and Jhandi villages, respectively, to undergo ten years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of one lakh rupees each for keeping Chitta (heroin) with them.
In the event of non-payment of the fine, they will have to undergo an additional simple imprisonment of one year. The court sentenced them under sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act.
District Attorney Sandeep Agnihotri said both the accused were arrested by the police during a random check on December 11, 2020, and were taken into custody. He said thereafter, a case under the NDPS Act was registered against them at Hamirpur police station, and trial started.
