Vijayawada, Oct 19 (Reporter) YSRCP Chief and Former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy sharply criticized the TDP coalition government for its negligence, leading to the dire situation in Gurla, mandal of Vizianagaram district, where a severe diarrhea outbreak has tragically claimed 11 lives and left hundreds affected.
Taking to social media platform 'X', YS Jagan Mohan Reddy criticized the government under Chandrababu Naidu for failing to respond adequately, despite having well-equipped hospitals nearby. He pointed out that patients were being treated on benches in schools, which he saw as evidence of the government's inability to provide emergency healthcare.
He further highlighted the deterioration of essential health services, such as the 104 and 108 ambulance systems, with employees not being paid on time. He also condemned the government for paralyzing the state health scheme Aarogyasri by not clearing Rs 1,800 crore in dues and scrapping the Aarogya Asara scheme. He noted that key healthcare initiatives, including the Family Doctor program and ‘Nadu-Nedu’ scheme in hospitals, had been stalled, and raised concerns over the potential privatization of public healthcare institutions for personal gain.
