Govt extends tenure of IB chief Tapan Kumar Deka by one year

New Delhi, May 20 (Reporter) The government on Tuesday extended the tenure of senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Tapan Kumar Deka as Director of Intelligence Bureau for one year. According to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, the tenure of Deka, a 1988 batch officer of the Himachal Pradesh Cadre, has been extended for a period of one year, beyond June 30 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. This is in relaxation of the provisions of FR 56 (d) and Rule 16 (1A) of All India Services (Death cum retirement Benefits) Rules, 1958, the statement issued by the Appointments Committee said...////...
