Govt committed to reforms towards enhancing domestic defence production: Defence Secy

New Delhi, July 9 (Reporter) Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane on Tuesday said that the government is committed to undertaking further reforms in enhancing domestic defence production and to handhold the ecosystem by implementing the concept of 'Industry 4.0/QA 4.0' to boost manufacturing. Delivering the keynote address at a National Level Seminar on Quality Reforms held virtually by the Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) in association with the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), he underlined the importance of achieving the stipulated goals emphasising the need for attaining Atmanirbharata in defence manufacturing and the key role of all stakeholders, especially the domestic Defence Industry, in realising this vision. Addressing the participants, Lt Gen R S Reen, DG, DGQA, highlighted various quality initiatives and reforms undertaken by DGQA, to facilitate Ease of Doing Business and promote Atmanirbharata, an official statement said. Rajinder Singh Bhatia, President, SIDM, shared the industry perspective on ongoing reforms and the need for a collaborative approach. The seminar culminated in a decision to have such interactions more regularly, among indigenous defence manufacturers, government QA agencies and other stakeholders, to facilitate Ease of Doing Business in the defence sector...////...
