Godrej Enterprises Group to invest Rs 200 cr at Dahej manufacturing unit

New Delhi, Feb 23 (Reporter) The Process Equipment business of Godrej Enterprises Group has announced an investment of Rs 200 crore to expand its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Dahej, Gujarat. The announcement was made by Hussain Shariyarr, Executive Vice President and Business Head of the process Equipment business of Godrej Enterprises Group while addressing a press conference at Dahej in Gujarat. "The new investment follows a previous Rs 300 crore infusion, further demonstrating the company’s commitment to strengthening domestic manufacturing and advancing India’s clean energy goals" Hussain Shariyarr said. " By spending this much amount, we have expanded our capacity by around 30 per cent demonstrates the growth, we have achieved in the last three years, and we are trying to increase our growth by 15 to 20 per cent in the next three to two years." he further added. "This expansion aims to strengthen India's position as a global hub for process equipment manufacturing and aligns with the government's Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives" he said. "Currently, 70% of its production is exported to over 40 countries across six continents, with a strong focus on the Americas and the Middle East" he said Explaining the company's plans to enter into the nuclear energy sector, Hussain Shariyarr said that Godrej Enterprises is among the three fabricators in India which can make components for nuclear power plants. "It is not easy to make these components but we have the privilege to make the components for the power plants...The kind of boom is coming in this sector because of this we have a very good future in terms of business growth" he said. Hussain Shariyarr also hailed the recent allocation of Rs 20,000 crore for Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) in the union budget and said it will help to meet our clean energy demands and meet our climate goals set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by 2070". Talking about the importance of specialized process equipment in an era of growing energy demand in the world, Hussain Shariyarr said, “The global energy landscape is undergoing a transformative shift toward cleaner, more sustainable solutions. As the demand for specialized process equipment in the clean energy sector continues to grow, manufacturers must evolve to meet these complex requirements. "This strategic expansion of our Dahej facility demonstrates our commitment to leading this evolution. By enhancing our capabilities to produce advanced, large-scale equipment for clean energy applications, we are enhancing capability by expanding our facility and strengthening India's position in the global energy transition while delivering world-class manufacturing solutions to customers globally" he noted. The Phase-III expansion of the Dahej facility will increase annual manufacturing capacity to approximately 30,000 MT, said the company in a statement. This expansion aims to develop capability and capacity in manufacturing high-end and critical process equipment for sectors like hydrogen, nuclear, and geothermal energy along with conventional energy projects like refineries and petrochemicals. It also supports the vision outlined in the National Green Hydrogen Mission & the Union Budget, prioritising clean energy transition with a Rs 37,000 crore allocation for related projects. The expanded facility will feature an additional Extended Fabrication Yard dedicated to manufacturing large and complex process equipment, including equipment up to 16 meters in diameter and 140 meters in length, with enhanced capabilities for process modules. A strategically placed 30m x 10m Advanced Heat Treatment Furnace will ensure a reduction in carbon emissions during operation. The facility, commissioned in 2016, houses units to manufacture and deliver over-dimensional consignments for global projects, and features a unique sea-going jetty, enabling direct loading and transportation of over-dimensional equipment to international markets...////...
