New Delhi, May 5 (Reporter) Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has embarked on a journey of expansion and plans to introduce courses in disciplines such as agronomy, filmmaking, and HR.
In an exclusive conversation with UNI, Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Mahesh Verma said the university has acquired 22 acres of land in Narela.
"A dedicated committee is spearheading efforts to unlock the potential of this new campus, envisaging a realm of possibilities with plans to introduce avant-garde courses in disciplines such as agronomy, filmmaking, and HR, among others," Verma said.
Renowned for its professional and technical education, the university has consistently pushed boundaries with its array of flagship programs and pioneering initiatives aimed at holistic development.
Verma said the university runs over 190 programmes spread across 115 affiliated colleges, and annually welcomes approximately 40,000 new students, maintaining a total enrolment of around 1 lakh students.
He said GGSIPU prioritises Delhi students by reserving 85% of its seats for local talent.
The university recently received the highest accreditation of A++ from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
The university undertook over 500 placement drives organised through its centralised training and placement cell. The highlight was a record-breaking offer of Rs 80 lakhs per annum from software multinational Atlassian, he said.
Admissions at GGSIPU are characterised by a seamless process, with online applications for various programmes kicking off on February 1, 2024. While deadlines for several programs have elapsed, avenues for admission into NLT-based and weekend programmes remain open until May 15 and May 31, 2024, respectively...////...
