New Delhi, Mar 8 (Reporter) Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) celebrated Women's Day with great enthusiasm, hosting a National Conference on Gender Perspectives as part of 'Viksit Bharat @2047' to mark the 'Amrit Kaal' here on Friday.
Organised by the University School of Law and Legal Studies (USLLS) in collaboration with the Viksit Bharat Cell, the conference delved into topics such as women's representation in Parliament, the impact of reservation policies, and challenges faced in local councils.
The Chief Guest, Madhu Krishna Garg, Chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), encouraged attendees to "Invest in women to accelerate the growth of India." She urged the young audience to invest in themselves, strive for self-improvement, understand their passions, and engage in activities that bring them happiness. "Self-realisation along with economic sustainability is the key for a Viksit Bharat," she added.
In his address, Padmashri Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma, Vice Chancellor, encouraged students and women to celebrate their womanhood. He drew inspiration from the life of Muthavya Vanitha, the project director of India's Chandrayaan-2 missions, highlighting the dedication and quiet power of women.
Prof A P Singh of USLLS emphasised the significance of women's influence both at home and in various fields. Prof. (Dr.) Anuj Kumar Vaksha, Director of the Viksit Bharat Cell, welcomed delegates and highlighted the role of 'Nari Shakti' (women power). Prof (Dr) Shivani Goswami, Convenor of the conference, proposed the vote of thanks. Cell member Prof Neelu Mehra was also present.
The conference featured two parallel sessions and saw the presentation of over 50 papers on various dimensions of the conference themes. Participants included faculties, research scholars, and students from universities across Delhi NCR...////...
