Four stranded Odia workers return home from Oman

Bhubaneswar, Feb 22 (Reporter) Four Odia workers from the Ganjam region, who were stranded in Oman, have safely returned to Odisha due to the intervention of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The workers arrived in Mumbai from Muscat on Friday via an Air India Express flight. From Mumbai, they travelled to Bhubaneswar before boarding a train to Berhampur. Chief Minister Majhi has expressed gratitude to External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and the Indian Embassy in Oman for facilitating the safe return of the four workers. According to sources from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Majhi directed the Chief Resident Commissioner in New Delhi to take immediate action after receiving an email stating that four Odia workers were trapped in Oman. Following the Chief Minister’s instructions, the Chief Resident Commissioner consulted the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Ambassador in Oman, coordinating efforts for their rescue. Upon learning that the workers were in Sohar, Oman, the Indian Embassy arranged for their accommodation and meals at a Gurudwara.
