Former CDPO sentenced to RI in bribery case

Patna, Apr 8 (Reporter) Special Vigilance Court of Mohammad Rustam awarded 4 years rigorous imprisonment to the then Child Development Project Officer ( CDPO) Savita Kumari in a case of bribery. The court on Tuesday also slapped a fine of Rs 20000 against the then CDPO of Guraru block in Gaya district. The verdict was pronounced under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act. As per the case, the CDPO was arrested red-handed on April 22, 2017, while receiving bribes of Rs 30000 in lieu of recommending for extension of service of a woman observer.
