Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel stated that, after independence, the PM Janman Yojana is the country’s largest scheme, bringing transformative changes to the lives of tribal families. He emphasized that all initiatives aimed at the prosperity of tribal communities should be continuously monitored at the ground level. Special attention must be paid to the quality of work under the scheme, from the Gram Panchayat to the district level. The concerned officers should work with sensitivity towards tribal families, meet them regularly, and take their feedback so that timely corrective measures can be implemented.

Governor Shri Patel chaired a review meeting of the Tribal Cell and the departments involved in implementing the PM Janman Yojana at Raj Bhavan on Monday. Tribal Affairs Minister Shri Kunwar Vijay Shah was also present.

Speaking about housing facilities for tribal families, Governor Shri Patel stressed the need to ensure high-quality design and construction, making the houses comfortable and suitable for living. Calling it the biggest tribal welfare project since independence, he underlined the importance of constant monitoring by field staff at the tehsil level. He directed that the concerned Chief Executive Officers should inspect the ongoing works under the PM Janman Yojana every three months.

Governor Shri Patel urged the concerned departments to strive to achieve the set targets within the next three months. He reviewed the progress of key initiatives, including tap water supply to every household (Har Ghar Nal Yojana), universal healthcare, electricity access, education for all, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, status of multipurpose centres, mobile medical units, and the provision of mobile network connectivity.
