Kolkata, Feb 3 (Reporter) Thick blanket of fog and poor visibility on Monday impacted at least 33 arrivals and 44 departures of flights at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport forcing thousands of passengers to wait for hours
in the city's only air connectivity centre, official sources said.
Like on Sunday passengers of Kolkata Airport on Monday too suffered due to flight disruption.
The Low Visibility Procedures (LVP) started at 1.21 AM, affecting arrivals and departures until 8:45 AM.
A total of 33 arrivals and 44 departures were impacted. While no flights were diverted to Kolkata from other Airports, four flights scheduled to land in Dhaka had to be diverted elsewhere due to poor visibility, sources added.
They said the departure also delayed 16 flights and 6 arrivals. However, no aircraft had to return to the ramp.
The low visibility and flight disruption forced thousands of passengers to wait for long hours.
The passengers who had come late last night to catch an early flight were frustrated as the weather and poor visibility affected operations for 7 hours since 1.21 AM.
The weathermen predicted the foggy condition to remain next 24 hours and visibility may drop below 100 mts...////...
