Bangkok, Jan 2 (Reporter) Five people were killed and 30 others injured in a tourist bus accident in Surat Thani Province, Thailand, the Thai Rat newspaper reported. According to the report, the bus, which had been hired by a group of residents of Samut Sakhon Province near Bangkok for a trip to Yala Province in southern Thailand, skidded off the road during a sharp turn in Surat Thani, crashed into a tree and overturned. Five passengers died on the spot, while 30 others were injured and taken to nearby hospitals for medical care. Thailand is among the top 20 countries in the world with the highest number of fatal road accidents.
