Five Amarnath pilgrims injured as truck collides with cab in Udhampur

Jammu, July 18 (Reporter) Five Shri Amarnath Yatra pilgrims were injured today when a cab ferrying them as part of the convoy was hit by a truck in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district. According to police, the accident occurred at Industrial Chowk in the Battal Ballian area along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. The truck driver identified as William, a resident of Gurdaspur, Punjab, rammed into the cab due to the driver’s alleged negligence. The truck driver lost control of the vehicle, which damaged road barriers and concertina wire before crashing into the pilgrims’ cab. The injured pilgrims identified as Harishchand Jaiswal, Kaushal Kishore, Vir Bhadr, Ajad Ghond, and Ajay Madesia -- all residents of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh -- were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC) Udhampur for treatment.
