Nandurbar (Maharashtra), April 22 (Reporter) Ranjanabai Sadashiv Sonawane, a resident of Tembhali, taluka in Nandurbar district, who has been honoured as the first Aadhaar card holder in the country, has got the benefit of the ‘Chief Minister’s My Beloved Sister’ scheme thanks to District Collector Mittali Sethi.
Ranjanabai had registered with the 'Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana' through the ‘Nari Shakti Doot’ app with the help of an Anganwadi worker. She submitted her Aadhaar card, bank passbook and other documents. However, it was observed that the amount of the scheme was not being credited to her account due to confusion over the bank.
Further investigation revealed that her Aadhaar card was linked to IDBI Bank in Andheri, and therefore the benefit amount was deposited in that account. The officials then verified her account in Bank of India and IDBI Bank.
Taking cognizance of the matter, the taluka-level machinery of Tehsildar Deepak Girase under the guidance of the District Collector took the initiative to make Ranjanabai the recipient of the scheme. As a result, on April 21, Ranjanabai was presented with a cheque of Rs. 13,500 from IDBI Bank for benefits under the scheme...////...
