Chandrapur, Feb 16 (Reporter) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Sunday that financial institutions along with direct benefit transfer (DBT) play a significant role in development of the country and the common citizens.
Speaking at a programme organised at Priyadarshan on occasion of the silver jubilee celebrations of Sanmitra Mahila Nagari Sahakari Bank here, he talked about how Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strengthened the Indian economy where economic institutions thrive, and development abounds.
He said that Modi has connected every citizen of India with the banking sector, facilitating every citizen to have a bank account today.
The Chief Minister further said that the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat have made very good progress in the cooperative sector, and this is evident from the way in which cooperative banks have been posing a challenge to commercial banks.
He appreciated the manner in which Sanmitra Bank has moved forward successfully in today's era of
globalisation.
Today, Sanmitra Bank has not onl adopted core banking and digital banking methods but also has taken up the issues of customer security, he said.
Interestingly, Sanmitra Bank is celebrating its silver jubilee this year, which has been declared as the Year of Cooperation by the United Nations, he added...////...
