Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that farmers are the backbone of Madhya Pradesh’s economy and their welfare is the state government’s top priority. Every decision of the government is taken keeping farmers’ interests in mind, and all necessary measures will continue to be taken for their well-being. He said the state government is committed to strengthening farmers’ financial condition by increasing their income through every possible means.Addressing the Kisan Aabhar Sammelan organised at the Chief Minister’s residence on the occasion of payment under the Bhavantar Scheme for soybean, CM Dr. Yadav said that the Bhavantar Scheme protects farmers against fluctuations in market prices and is a major initiative for their welfare.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that ‘if a dry field is given water, the crop shines like gold’. He said that the government will ensure water reaches every field in the state. Farmers, who are now becoming energy providers along with food providers, are encouraged to install solar pumps in their fields. The installation of solar pumps will free them from the recurring costs of temporary electricity connections.
Making a major announcement, CM Dr. Yadav said that farmers will now receive a 90% subsidy on the installation of solar power pumps, instead of the earlier 40%. In addition, farmers using electric pumps will be given solar pumps of one higher capacity; a 3 HP farmer will get a 5 HP pump, and a 5 HP farmer will get a 7.5 HP pump. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also announced a reward of ₹5,000 each for all artists who presented traditional folk performances at the conference. The event began with lamp lighting and the offering of garlands to the images of Lord Haladhar Balaram and Bharat Mata.
