Kuwait City/New Delhi, July 20 (Reporter) The Indian Embassy in Kuwait on Saturday expressed its condolences on the tragic demise of an Indian man, his wife and two children in a fire at their flat in Abassiya area, and said they are working to ensure early repatriation of the bodies to India.
In a post on X, the Indian Embassy said: “@indembkwt expresses its deepest condolences on the tragic demise of Mr Mathews Mulackal, his wife and 2 children due to fire in his flat in Abassiya yesterday night.
“Embassy is in touch with his family and will ensure early repatriation of mortal remains. “
The incident occurred on Friday night, claiming the lives of Mathew Mulackal, his wife Lini Abraham, and their two children, Isack and Irine.
The family, originally from Kerala, had returned from a vacation on Friday morning.
Initial reports indicate that the fire started from the air conditioning unit in their apartment. Despite efforts to contain the blaze, the family could not escape the deadly flames, said the Local Kuwaiti.
Mathew Mulackal was employed with Reuters, while his wife, Lini Abraham, worked as a staff nurse at Adan Hospital. Their children were students at Bhavans Kuwait.
Local authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire and to prevent such tragedies in the future.
The incident comes over a month after a fire tragedy at a labour camp in the Mangaf area of Kuwait City claimed the lives of nearly 50 people, mostly Indians, who were staying in the overcrowded building...////...
