Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, further enhancing the charm of Bhopal, the City of Lakes, will inaugurate the service of 20 new ‘Shikara Boats’ at the Bada Talab Boat Club on Thursday, 4th December, at 9 AM. The event will be presided over by Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Shri Narendra Singh Tomar and will see the dignified presence of Assembly members.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, tourism facilities in the state are continuously being expanded, establishing new dimensions for tourism development. This unique initiative of operating Shikara boats in Bada Talab, modeled after the famous Dal Lake of Kashmir, not only gives a fresh identity to the state’s water tourism at the national level but also provides visitors an opportunity to spend tranquil moments in nature.
The primary objective of this initiative is to give water tourism in the state a new recognition at both national and international levels. For the first time in the state, Shikara boats are being operated on such a large scale under the vision of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. Keeping environmental protection in mind, all 20 Shikara boats have been constructed using pollution-free modern technology. They are made from fiber-reinforced polyurethane and high-quality non-reactive materials that do not chemically react with water, ensuring the lake’s ecology and water purity remain fully preserved.
These Shikara boats are manufactured by internationally reputed organizations whose boats have been highly appreciated by tourists in Kerala, Bengal, and Assam. The Bada Talab Boat Club in Bhopal will be ready to welcome tourists with these attractive Shikaras.
During the Shikara boat rides, tourists can also enjoy bird-watching, as binoculars are provided on board. In addition, tourists can purchase organic vegetables, fruits, and handicraft products made in Madhya Pradesh. They can also savor local delicacies during the ride, making the experience both enjoyable and culturally enriching.
