Ex-PM Deve Gowda warns against premature NEET judgments

New Delhi, June 28 (Reporter) Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda on Friday made a fervent appeal for restraint amidst the escalating controversy surrounding the NEET examination, stressing the critical need to allow the investigative process to proceed without interference. Addressing the Rajya Sabha RPT Rajya Sabha, Gowda voiced his apprehensions about the impact on students, cautioning, "Till the inquiry is completed, you can't fix responsibility on an individual and damage the image of the government." The remarks came after the opposition parties demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for the controversy. Speaker Om Birla informed the House that a committee had been formed to investigate the issue. In a poignant plea to senior parliamentarians, Gowda implored, "I only appeal to all matured leaders, senior leaders, please not to attack the government." Highlighting the government's action in initiating a CBI inquiry, Gowda said "Lakhs and lakhs of students are suffering in the country.... but the point is the government has already taken the decision and ordered a CBI inquiry. The inquiry has not been completed." Gowda underscored the complexity of pinpointing accountability, questioning, "Is it so easy to fix the responsibility on an individual?
