New Delhi, Jan 5 (Reporter) Former minister and four-time MLA Nirmal Singh returned to the Congress party after resigning from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) here on Friday.
Singh and his daughter Chitra Sarwara, a former general secretary of the All India Mahila Congress, were inducted into the party in the presence of the Congress general secretary in charge of Haryana, Dipak Babaria, former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, PCC president Udai Bhan, MP Deepender Singh Hooda, and others.
Babaria hailed their return, called it "home return," and said that both Singh and Sarwara had a long and deep association with the Congress.
Hooda, while welcoming them, recalled his long association with Singh from the 1970s, when both of them were in the Youth Congress.
The former Haryana Chief Minister said it was important for everyone to strengthen the Congress to save democracy in the country.
He said that Singh would be suitably accommodated in the party, as he had been duly assured by the party high command.
Speaking on the occasion, Udai Bhan said that Singh is the thirty-seventh former legislator or minister who has joined the Congress in Haryana during the last one and a half years.
Meanwhile, Singh and Sarwara expressed their gratitude to the party leadership both at the national level and at the state level for giving them a chance to “return home” to the Congress party...////...
