Ex-Minister Narad Rai announces SP exit

Ballia (UP), May 28 (Reporter) Senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and former state minister Narad Rai is piqued for allegedly being overlooked and has announced to resign from the primary membership of the party. Addressing a meeting in Khori Pakad village in the district late Monday, Rai announced to quit SP and urged his supporters to lock the cycle (party's election symbol) in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Talking to reporters he alleged that he was being constantly ignored in the SP. Referring to the election rally of party chief Akhilesh Yadav in Ballia, he said, "What more insult should I bear that the president, Akhilesh Yadav did not even take my name from the stage. I cannot go against my supporters." He announced while raising the slogan of Jai Shri Ram that he would quit SP and join Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Akhilesh Yadav addressed an election meeting in Phephana area on Sunday in support of SP candidate Sanatan Pandey of Ballia Lok Sabha constituency, but he did not mention Narad Rai's name in his address despite his presence on the stage.
