Ex-militants campaigning for NC, PDP: Ram Madhav

Srinagar, Sep 4 (Reporter) Ram Madhav, Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) election in-charge for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, on Wednesday alleged that former militants are openly campaigning for National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Madhav urged voters to reject these parties that have caused them misery over the past 40 years. "We are confident that the families responsible for the region's tragedy will be ousted," he told media persons in Srinagar. The BJP leader claimed that ex-militants were campaigning for NC and PDP candidates, and that this election will be historic, with the BJP emerging as the largest group in Jammu and Kashmir. “I can see that former militants are openly campaigning for NC and PDP candidates. These parties want to bring back the old, bad times. The people of Jammu and Kashmir will rise up to defeat them,” he said. The senior BJP predicted the emergence of new leadership in Jammu and Kashmir “Those who want peace, who do not support terrorism at all, and who want development, such parties and leaders will emerge in the Kashmir valley as well during this election”, the BJP leader said. Madhav alleged that NC and PDP are trying to take the region back to the old days of trouble. He emphasized the need to defeat these parties and assured that the elections will be peaceful and transparent, as promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
