Eluru, AP, Jun 2 (Reporter) District collector V Prasanna Venkatesh on Sunday apprised Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena that all arrangements have been made for counting of votes to be held on June four. Speaking during a review meet of counting arrangements with the CEO via video link here, he informed that they are ready for the election counting process in Eluru district and all arrangements in this regard have been made. State CEO Meena reviewed the election counting arrangements in the state with the District Election Officers and Returning Officers through video conferencing from the State Chief Election Office. Meena asked district electoral officers and Returning officers to be fully prepared for the counting process. He instructed that counting arrangements should be made as per rules and regulations issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The CEO further instructed that mobile phones should not be allowed in the counting hall and reports should be sent online to EC in the proforma specifying exact results round wise. “Precautionary measures should be taken to prevent fire accidents at the counting centres and an emergency door should be arranged in the counting centre for emergency exit," the CEO directed the officials. On the occasion, Eluru collector V Prasanna Venkatesh informed that counting halls have been set up for seven Assembly constituencies in the district and 28 tables have been set up in each counting hall, 14 tables for the Assembly constituencies and 14 tables for the Parliamentary constituencies. The collector informed the CEO that according to the number of votes polled, counting would be carried out from 16 to 21 rounds. He said that Section 144 is being enforced throughout the district, and the Red Zone has been declared within 200 metres of the counting hall.
