Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that in Indian culture, Raksha Bandhan holds special significance. He stated, “A family is not considered complete without a son, but true accomplishment and fulfillment come only when there is a daughter in the home.” Describing Raksha Bandhan as the “king of festivals,” he said that the blessings of sisters ensure success in life, and the State Government is committed to the welfare of women.
CM Dr. Yadav was addressing a grand ‘Raksha-Bandhan’ event organised in Ward-37 of Chandbad area, Bhopal, on Tuesday. He said, recalling the tradition’s origin,that during the Mahabharata era, when Lord Shri Krishna’s finger was wounded after using the Sudarshan Chakra to behead Shishupal, Draupadi tore a piece of her sari to tie on His finger—an act that became the symbolic beginning of ‘Raksha-Bandhan’.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the poor have been provided housing, gas stoves and other essential facilities. The Prime Minister has also shown commitment to ensuring greater representation for women in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. He trusts in the strength of farmers and soldiers, and today India is emerging as the most capable nation in the world. CM Dr. Yadav added that it is unfortunate that some people do not even respect institutions like the Election Commission and the Army.
Earlier, before the program, a Road-Show was held in Chandbad where citizens welcomed the Chief Minister Dr. Yadav with garlands and showers of rose petals. During the event, sisters tied ‘Rakhis’ to the Chief Minister.
