EU extends sanctions against Russia

Moscow, Feb 20 (Reporter) The European Union (EU) has extended sanctions against Russia, introduced due to the accession of four new regions to the country in 2022, for another year until February 24, 2025, according to a document published in the EU's Official Journal on Tuesday. "This decision shall apply until February 24, 2025," the document read. The decision will take effect the day after it is published. Additional measures could be imposed and the existing measures could be extended, the document added. Referendums on whether the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR, LPR), the Kherson, and Zaporizhia regions should become part of Russia were held on September 23–27, 2022. Most of the voters supported joining Russia. On September 30, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the corresponding treaties with the leaders of the territories...////...
