Ankara, Sep 12 (Reporter) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan wants to reshuffle the Cabinet of Ministers and the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in fall, Turkish media reported on Thursday.
Ismail Kilicarslan, a columnist for the pro-Erdogan Yeni Safak newspaper who is close to the Turkish government, told the daily that the president was planning "serious changes" in the AKP leadership.
The AKP suffered a rare electoral defeat in the nationwide local polls in March, with the opposition Republican People's Party of Turkey (CHP) coming ahead of the ruling party for the first time in 20 years. Opposition mayors in Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir held on to their posts.
