Srinagar, Sep 13 (Reporter) National Conference President Farooq Abdullah launched a scathing attack on Awami Itihad Party (AIP) Chief Abdul Rashid Sheikh aka Engineer Rashid, calling him an "agent" of the Central government. Abdullah said this while interacting with reporters in Shopian during an election rally on Friday. Asked whether with the emergence of Engineer Rashid will it have any effect on the alliance, Farooq said, “neither I was afraid of him then and nor today. I believe in the Almighty and the people of Jammu and Kashmir”. Engineer Rashid is their agent and everybody knows it," he added. On Engineer's remark that if Farooq Abdullah and Rahul Gandhi will give assurance that Article 370 would be restored in Jammu and Kashmir, Farooq said that “these are the people who were pleading for plebiscite and were demanding freedom. These are the people who were raising slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad”. What miracle today happened they became the dearer of the India”. "They have been released from the jail just to fight for them (centre)”, he said. Asked that some parties believe that Engineer Rashid has been released under a conspiracy, Farooq said that “people know it. You knon it..We are not afraid of him. They cannot demolish the National conference”...////...
