Srinagar, Aug 10 (Reporter) An encounter is underway between security forces and militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district. Police said the encounter at Ahlan Gagarmandu area of Anantnag erupted on Saturday when joint teams of forces launched a cordon and a search operation (CASO) in the area following an input about militant presence. “The CASO turned into an encounter when hiding terrorists opened fire on joint teams of forces,” they said. Additional forces have been rushed to the area to ensure a tight cordon. In a post on X, Police said security forces are on job. “Encounter has started at Ahlan Gagarmandu area of District Anantnag.
