Mathura, July 22 (Reporter) Two men wanted in an attempted murder case were injured in a police encounter late Monday night in the Jait area of Mathura.
The accused, identified as Sahil Rao and Vipin alias Pille, both residents of Datia, Madhya Pradesh, sustained bullet wounds during the exchange of fire. They have been admitted to the 100 Saiya Hospital in Vrindavan for treatment.
Police said pistols, cartridges, and the vehicle used by the suspects were recovered from the encounter site.
Circle Officer (CO) Sadar, Sandeep Singh, said the Jait Police and a surveillance team were involved in the operation.
“The criminals were shot in the leg and taken to the hospital. We’ve recovered the weapons and car used in the incident. Legal action is underway,” Singh said.
Reports said that Sahil Rao allegedly shot at Pradeep on July 17, a resident of Green Valley near Bajna Thana Highway, with the intent to kill him. The attack took place near Muniyara Service Road. Pradeep sustained injuries, police said, adding that on Monday night, the accused returned to target Pradeep again, leading to the encounter with the police.
During police interrogation, Sahil Rao revealed the motive behind the attack, alleging that Pradeep had kidnapped his sister around one-and-a-half years ago and had refused to send her back despite repeated pleas. “Because of this, we were facing humiliation among our relatives,” Sahil said.
“So my friend Vipin and I decided to kill Pradeep. When we learned through news that he survived the earlier attack, we returned to finish the job.”
Police are continuing their investigation and have initiated legal proceedings against the accused...////...
