Ecuadorian midfielder Zambrano suspended for doping breach

Quito, Nov 6 (Reporter) Hull City's Ecuadorian midfielder Oscar Zambrano has been suspended by South American football confederation CONMEBOL after breaching doping rules, the English second-tier club said. The ban is effective immediately and precludes Zambrano from playing at any level until further notice, according to a Hull statement on Tuesday. "Zambrano and his defense will use their right to appeal this decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport," the EFL Championship club added. Zambrano tested positive following the second leg of the Recopa Sudamericana in March. He remained eligible to play after blaming the result on contaminated seafood. The 20-year-old has made eight appearances for Hull City since joining the club on a season-long loan from LDU Quito in August.
