New Delhi, July 6 (Reporter) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday spoke with new UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy and both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing the bilateral Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. In a post on X, EAM Jaishankar said he looks forward to an early in-person meeting with his UK counterpart. “Delighted to speak to UK Foreign Secretary @DavidLammy. “We reaffirmed our commitment to enhance our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Look forward to an early in-person meeting.” On Friday, EAM had in a post on X congratulated Lammy on being appointed the new UK Foreign Secretary. “Congratulations to @DavidLammy on being appointed Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom. “Look forward to continuing our engagement and strengthen the India-Great Britain Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.” New UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has appointed David Lammy as Foreign Secretary after the Labour Party swept to power in a landslide general election win.
