Rome/New Delhi, Nov 24 (Reporter) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday inaugurated the new Chancery of the Indian Embassy in Rome, and said it befits the continued expansion of the bilateral partnership and will also help to better serve the Indian community in Italy. In a post on X, the EAM said: “Pleased to inaugurate the new Chancery of the Embassy of India in Rome today. “It befits the continued expansion of India-Italy partnership in recent years. Will also help us serve better the Indian community in Italy.” Ambassador Riccardo Guariglia, Secretary General, Italian Foreign Ministry, Senator Guilio Terzi, Chair of India-Italy Parliamentary Friendship Group, and others were present on the occasion. Francesco M. Talo, Senior Advisor to the Defense Minister, in a post on X said: “Inauguration of the new Indian Embassy in Rome. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar mentioned the Indo-Mediterranean vision and the connectivity corridor #IMEC as the axis of bilateral relations. “It will be discussed soon in Mumbai during the stopover of the Vespucci ship. In his address, EAM said: “Our maritime interests and our shared commitment to ensuring freedom of navigation and shipping also help us bring the two countries closer. We are coordinating amongst others, in the Gulf of Aden, and in response to some challenges that shipping has faced there. “But most important today we are making history for the modern relationship. India and Italy are founding members of the India-Middle East-Europe Connectivity (IMEEC) along with like-minded friends, and as I contemplate the future, certainly one day we will look back upon this period and say this connectivity corridor, which was agreed to in principle during India’s presidency of the G20, will be a game changer between Europe and Asia.” “In all of this, India’s transformation has been a factor in the relationship...////...
