EAM Jaishankar expresses sadness over South Korean plane crash, extends condolences

New Delhi, Dec 29 (Reporter) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday expressed sadness over the tragic airplane crash in South Korea that killed 179 people, and extended condolences to the bereaved families. In a post on X, the EAM said: “Deeply saddened by the tragic airplane crash at the Muan international airport. “Extend condolences to the bereaved families. Our thoughts are with the people of Republic of Korea at this difficult time.” All passengers and most of the crew onboard a Jeju Air flight died after the plane crash-landed at an airport in South Korea on Sunday. A total of 179 of the 181 people onboard the Boeing 737-800 were killed, with just two survivors, both cabin staff, pulled from the burning wreckage. The plane landed at Muan International Airport in the country's south, skidding off the runway and crashing into a wall in a fiery explosion. Flight 2216 had been returning from Bangkok, Thailand with six crew and 175 passengers, many of them holidaymakers, when the accident happened, BBC reported...////...
