Hyderabad/Lucknow, May 7 (Reporter) In view of the growing number of Telugu-speaking devotees visiting the sacred places of Ayodhya and Kashi, Rajya Sabha MP and BJP OBC Morcha National President Dr K Laxman has appealed to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to allocate land for the development of essential infrastructure to support these pilgrims.
During a meeting with the Chief Minister in Lucknow on Wednesday, Dr Laxman submitted a formal request for land allotment ranging from 2,000 square yards to 1 acre in both Ayodhya and Kashi.
The proposed land would be used to construct dedicated facilities for pilgrims from the Telugu states, including accommodation, food services, parking spaces, and public toilets—all aimed at offering safe, affordable, and respectful amenities.
“The number of devotees from Telugu states visiting the Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and the Kashi Vishwanath Temple is increasing significantly. To make their pilgrimage more comfortable, I have proposed the development of facilities specifically for them,” Dr. Laxman stated.
He also informed the Chief Minister that the construction of these facilities would be undertaken using MP LAD (Local Area Development) funds or other appropriate funding sources. Emphasising the cultural and spiritual ties between the Telugu people and these holy cities, Dr Laxman said, “This initiative is being taken with the interests of devotees from the southern states, especially Telangana, in mind.”
Dr Laxman expressed satisfaction over the positive response from CM Yogi Adityanath, describing it as “gratifying” and a step forward in strengthening the spiritual connection between regions. “This effort will not only ease the pilgrimage experience for Telugu devotees but also serve as a matter of pride for our community,” he added.
The proposed facilities are expected to significantly enhance the pilgrimage experience for thousands of Telugu devotees, reinforcing Ayodhya and Kashi’s status as inclusive and accessible centres of spiritual heritage, a statement said...////...
