Chennai, Apr 11 (Reporter) After facing the ire from various quarters,the ruling DMK on Friday removed senior leader and Tamil Nadu Forests Minister K Ponmudy from the key post of Deputy General Secretary for his derogatory and uncivilised remarks at a public event. His removal form the party post was announced by Chief Minister and DMK President M K Stalin, who appointed Rajya Sabha MP Trichy N Siva as the new Deputy General Secretary. Mr Ponmudy's remarks drew wide and strong criticisms from Opposition parties, including the BJP, and demanded his ouster from the State Cabinet. It was DMK's tradition that such statements would be issued by DMK General Secretary. But the fact that it was issued by Mr Stalin himself showed that the DMK leadership has taken a serious view of his remarks.
