New Delhi, Nov 15 (Reporter) Culling out instances and anecdotes from his life journey, DLF chairman emeritus and real estate czar KP Singh has come up with his new book 'Why the Heck Not?' offering entrepreneurs business insights and a blueprint for success.
At 95, Singh has co-authored the book with leadership coach Aparna Jain and believes that his story would have resonance with new-age entrepreneurs.
The book has been published by Penguin. Singh's first book, his autobiography 'Whatever the Odds,' was released in 2011.
Talking about the book at an event here in the capital on Thursday evening, KP Singh described his life as 'two steps forward and one step back'.
In his new book, Singh has admitted his mistakes in life and also situations he could have handled better.
Known for his sharp long-term memory, Singh said he has retired from his executive role but is not tired.
One of the most powerful voices of India Inc., KP Singh said that not necessarily everyone should follow his approach, but his new book is a blueprint for how he succeeded.
Given the perception about the real estate sector, which is generally considered notorious for cheating customers, delayed projects, and developers allegedly indulging in corrupt practices, KP Singh said that he always followed principles and ethics, and never cut corners.
"My interest always followed public interest," he said while talking about taking up urban development projects.
Singh has received many awards, including the Padma Bhushan in 2010 and the EY ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022. The nonagenarian business leader remains active in sports and philanthropy.
KP Singh began his career as an officer in the Indian Army before getting into his family business.
