London, July 10 (Reporter) Novak Djokovic has advanced to the semifinals of Wimbledon after Alex de Minaur withdrew from their quarterfinal match due to a hip injury. The Australian ninth seed was set to face the 24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic in the second match on Centre Court on Wednesday. He will meet either Italy's Lorenzo Musetti or American 13th seed Taylor Fritz. "I am devastated to pull out due to a hip injury," De Minaur said. "I felt a loud crack during the last three points of my match against [Arthur] Fils. I got a scan yesterday, and it confirmed the injury, with a high risk of worsening if I were to play." De Minaur defeated Frenchman Fils in four sets on Monday to reach his first Wimbledon quarter-final. The 25-year-old revealed that his recovery period is estimated to be between three and six weeks. "I have been struggling to sleep the last couple of days. I feel it [when] walking," De Minaur added. "I was hoping to wake up feeling better, to a point where I could at least compete. But it's almost disrespectful for me to not go on the court close to 100% against someone like Novak because there's no point in playing if I'm not there to try and win." Djokovic is chasing a record-equalling eighth Wimbledon men's singles title, aiming to draw level with Roger Federer. This move into the semi-finals marks Djokovic's 13th at Wimbledon, tying Federer for the Open era record. Despite undergoing knee surgery just three weeks before the tournament, Djokovic has looked in excellent form. He cruised past 15th seed Holger Rune in the quarter-finals.
