Devotees urged to stay in their lanes, take holy dip at ghat they reach

Prayagraj, Jan 28 (Reporter) As a sea of devotees and tourists gather in Prayagraj for the Amit Snan on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya at Maha Kumbh on Wednesday, the fair administration and police have intensified safety measures to ensure a secure and comfortable experience for them. Devotees have also been urged to remain vigilant, steer clear of rumours, and report concerns promptly. A dedicated team comprising fair police, traffic police, and specialized doctors has been deployed around the clock to assist devotees in case of emergencies. Senior Superintendent of Police, Maha Kumbh Nagar, Rajesh Dwivedi said, "Robust arrangements have been made for the second Amrit Snan of Maha Kumbh, especially for Mauni Amavasya." He urged devotees to cooperate with the police, remain cautious, and seek assistance. The police and administration are available round the clock to support the devotees at Maha Kumbh. Devotees have been advised to go through different lanes to reach Sangam Ghat. "Stay in your lane while going for Ganga bath. After bathing and darshan, the visiting devotees should go straight to the parking lot. Stay in your lane while going for darshan in temples, from there leave for your destination," the administration has urged the devotees. The pilgrims have been advised to take the help of police if needed. "Traffic police are also ready to help you. In case of any health related problem, get yourself examined in the hospital built in the nearest sector. Be patient on the barricading and pontoon bridges and avoid hurrying and jostling. Use only paper, jute or eco-friendly utensils and Kulhar. All the ghats are Sangam Ghat, take bath at the ghat you reach," it asked. The fair administration has advised that devotees should not stop at one place together. In any situation, the devotees coming and going should not come face to face. Avoid rumours spread by anyone in the fair. The devotees have been asked not to believe any confusion spread on social media to be true. "Do not show any kind of hurry to visit temples. Do not stop on the roads instead of the holding area, do not create any obstruction. Avoid getting influenced by anyone regarding the arrangements or facilities. Avoid spreading any kind of misleading news. Do not hurry in taking a holy bath and avoid using plastic sheets and utensils," the administration has requested. Meanwhile, the UP Police, which is ready to become a role model in the country and the world in terms of crowd management in Maha Kumbh, has geared up for the final test on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya. The fair administration has estimated that eight to ten crore devotees will reach Prayagraj on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya and the crowd gathering in Sangam city since Monday is also confirming the claim of the fair administration. The Maha Kumbh Mela has become a subject of curiosity all over the world regarding crowd management. Many foreign channels and newspapers are covering this fair in the fair area. Thousands of foreign tourists in the fair area are also interpreting Sanatan with an open mind after taking a holy dip in Triveni. In view of the crowd, the district administration has prohibited the entry of all types of vehicles in the fair area except police and ambulances. Schools up to class eight in the district have been closed till January 30. Devotees from every corner of the country including Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal are reaching Prayagraj by bus, car and train. The railway administration has run dozens of special trains for the convenience of the devotees, while the UP State Transport Corporation has deployed buses on many routes to Prayagraj. Despite this, there is no space left in the bus or train. Police personnel are working day and night to keep the traffic in order in the city and the fair area. On many occasions, devotees walking several kilometres on foot were seen losing patience and getting into a scuffle with the policemen, while the policemen were seen trying to convince them by showing patience and restraint. The police have put up barricades at every end of the district's border and drivers are being advised to go through the alternate route. Despite this, traffic jams are being created in the city streets as vehicles are trying to take shortcuts...////...
