Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel emphasised that universities should prepare curricula based on identification of local employment opportunities. He appreciated the efforts of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav to attract investment proposals from both domestic and international sources and expressed expectation that, alongside implementing investment projects, courses should be introduced to train suitable candidates for industrial employment. This would ensure that local youth are ready as soon as projects begin.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that while today is the age of currency, skill is the true currency, and India understands this well. That is why, through innovation, we are moving toward skill development. Madhya Pradesh is primarily agricultural and rapidly developing state. Therefore, we have extended agricultural education to general colleges. If youths want to pursue a career in agriculture, they should be equipped with knowledge of modern technology. The scope of universities should expand, and all such courses should be offered there, he said.
Governor Shri Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed these views while addressing the national workshop on ‘Employment-Oriented Education: Trends and New Opportunities’under Madhya Pradesh @2047, organized by the Department of Higher Education. The workshop was held on Wednesday at Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium.
Governor Shri Patel said the workshop is timely and provides a strong platform for preparing for the future. It is an effective step toward contributing to development of India through employment-focused education. He said that education is the backbone of society. It enables individuals, communities, and the nation to adapt to the times, adopt innovations, and seize new opportunities. Therefore, our education system should not only provide access to employment opportunities but also empower students towards self-reliance.
