Chennai, Mar 7 (Reporter) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin on Friday wrote to various State Chief Ministers and former CMs regarding the proposed delimitation exercise by the Union Government based on population and sought their formal consent and to nominate one senior representative from their party to the Joint Action Committee (JAC) tobe formed to carry forward the battle and to create an awareness among the people. In a Demi-Official letter to them, Mr Stalin said in line with the resolution adopted at an All Party Meeting on March 5 chaired by him to discuss the issue resolving to for the JAC, he requested their formal consent to join the JAC comprising of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka in the South to West Bengal and Odisha in the East, Punjab in the North and the nomination of one senior representative from their party who can serve on the JAC and help coordinate this unified strategy. Reaching out to them with two requests, Mr Stalin said first "Your formal consent to join the JAC comprising of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka in the South to West Bengal and Odisha in the east, Punjab in the North and second nomination of one senior representative from your party who can serve on the JAC and help coordinate our unified strategy". Mr Stalin said As an initial step towards unified action, he proposed to convene an inaugural meeting in Chennai on March 22, to chart the collective course forward. "This moment demands leadership and collaboration, rising above political differences and standing up for our collective good", he added. "What is at stake is not any abstract principle - it is our States' ability to secure rightful resources for development, to influence crucial policies on education and healthcare and to ensure our economic priorities receive due attention in the national agenda", the Chief Minister said.
