Delhi court dismisses bail application of ex-AAP MLA Naresh Balyan in MCOCA case

New Delhi, May 27 (Reporter) A Delhi Court on Tuesday dismissed the bail application of former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Naresh Balyan in a Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) case. Special Judge for MPs/MLAs cases after hearing arguments on behalf of Government Counsel and Defence Counsel dismissed the bail application of Balyan. The former Uttam Nagar MLA, Balyan was arrested last year in the month of December in a case lodged under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). Police has submitted that Balyan was the alleged facilitator to settle an extortion demand made by gangster Kapil Sangwan to a businessman. Counsel for Balyan has submitted that he had been falsely implicated in this matter and the investigation related the alleged role of Balyan was completed in this matter. Government Counsel submitted that investigation in this case is at a crucial stage and the accused would hamper the investigation, if granted bail at this stage...////...
