New Delhi, Mar 9 (Reporter) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Saturday that the national capital’s budget is aimed at empowering women and caters to the needs of every section of society.
Speaking in the Assembly during the discussion on the 2024–25 annual budget presented by Finance Minister Atishi, Kejriwal said, “The budget is aimed at empowering our mothers and sisters. It includes the announcement of giving Rs 1000 to every woman above the age of 18. If there are several eligible women in a household, they will all receive Rs 1000 under the scheme,” he said.
He further criticized the BJP, stating, “There are two models of governance operating in the country.
One is the development model of "AAP" (Aam Aadmi Party), and the other is the destruction model of the BJP.”
“Under the AAP's development model, government schools and hospitals have been improved, electricity has been made free and available 24 hours a day, and pilgrimage trips are being arranged for the elderly,” he said.
He further asserted, “On the other hand, under the destruction model, agencies like ED (Enforcement Directorate) and CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) are used to suppress the opposition and stop them from doing good work.”
“Those who are stopping medicines, schools, neighborhood clinics, and electricity subsidies in Delhi are enemies of Delhi. The people of Delhi will have to unite to remove these enemies,” Kejriwal said.
“These people are going across the country and buying each MLA for 25 to 50 crores. These people toppled the government of Uttarakhand. In Uttarakhand, the public elected a Congress government under Harish Rawat's leadership, but they toppled the government by buying MLAs,” Kejriwal asserted.
He further said, “They toppled the governments of Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, and Arunachal Pradesh. Now they are going to topple the government of Himachal Pradesh.
Expressing concern, he said, “If democracy is destroyed within this country, it is treason to the country.”
He also highlighted the BJP's efforts to undermine the AAP, stating, “Now these people (the BJP) are engaged in breaking the AAP. They want to finish the AAP because, in the future, the AAP can challenge them within the country; it can challenge them in different states.”
“Whatever work we try to do in Delhi, the BJP tries to stop it. Yet we did not let the work of the people of Delhi stop. Even after 9 years, we have only been able to build 530 neighborhood clinics in Delhi, while our government in Punjab has built 830 neighborhood clinics within 2 years because there is no one to stop there,” he said...////...
