Defence Secretary to visit Oman from Jan 30

New Delhi, Jan 29 (Reporter) Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane will be on a two-day visit to Oman from Tuesday where he will have bilateral talks with Dr Mohammed Bin Naseer bin Al-Zaabi, Secretary General, Ministry of Defence Oman and also co-chair the 12th Joint Military Cooperation Committee. During his two-day visit starting January 30, Aramane will also review defence cooperation between the two countries and explore new initiatives like industry collaboration to further strengthen bilateral engagements, a Defence Ministry statement said here on Monday. The two leaders will also exchange views on regional and global issues of shared interest. The visit will further consolidate defence cooperation and strategic partnership between the two countries spanning every sphere of military collaboration, such as bilateral exercises, staff talks, training as well as new and emerging areas. India and Oman have a robust and multifaceted relationship which has expanded into several strategic areas, including defence and security.
