Pune, Apr 9 (Reporter) Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at most places over west Rajasthan; at a few places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, east Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Assam; at isolated places over Saurashtra and Kutch, west Madhya Pradesh; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Gujarat region, Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa; at isolated places over west Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Marathwada, Mizoram, Tripura, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam. These were below normal (-3.0°C to -1.6°C) at a few places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands; at isolated places over Odisha and near normal over the rest of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 46.4°C was reported at Barmer (west Rajasthan) in the country. Hailstorm occurred at isolated places over Telangana and Meghalaya. Yesterday, heat wave to severe heat wave conditions prevailed over most parts of west Rajasthan and in some parts of east Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh; Heat wave conditions prevailed over some parts of Saurashtra and Kutch; in isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat region. Warm night conditions prevailed in isolated pockets of south Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch and west Madhya Pradesh. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh and at a few places in Assam and Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, coastal Karnataka, north interior Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and South Interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather has prevailed in Gangetic West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Gujarat State and Lakshadweep.
