Mumbai, May 14 (Reporter) Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's close aide Tariq Parveen was released from Taloja Jail in Panvel area of new Mumbai city after the Bombay high court granted him bail in an extortion case, police sources said here on Wednesday. According to police Parveen along with another accused and Salim Penwala alias Salim Maharaj were arrested under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) in connection with an extortion case where gangster Ejaz Ladkawala had demanded Rs 2 crore from a South Mumbai dry fruits businessman in 2013. According to officials, Parveen, was deported from Dubai to India in 2004 and was arrested in connection with the illegal construction of the Sara Sahara shopping complex in Crawford Market.
