Bengaluru, March 4 (Reporter) The Karnataka State Contractors’ Association (KSCA) on Monday met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, urging the government to clear their pending dues of Rs 30,000 crore. The Chief Minister assured them that the payments would be settled in accordance with the state's financial condition.
The contractors’ body demanded that Rs 15,000 crore be cleared by April. However, Siddaramaiah stated that such an immediate settlement was not feasible. "I informed them that it was not possible and assured them that the dues would be cleared whenever possible,” he told reporters.

The CM reiterated that while the government acknowledges the contractors’ concerns, payments will be processed based on the state's financial capacity.
After meeting the chief minister, the KSCA members alleged that the demand for commissions on government contracts has risen under the current administration. “There is more commission now than before. We will lodge a complaint with top Congress leaders, including AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Rahul Gandhi, regarding this issue,” the association stated.
The association has also expressed its intention to seek intervention from senior Congress leaders to expedite the payments. “They are welcome to meet Kharge and Rahul. We have no objections. However, we will clear the bills based on the financial condition of the state,” Siddaramaiah said...////...
