Shimla, June 17(Reporter) Ruling Congress party decided to nominate Dr Pushpender Verma for Hamirpur and Hardeep Singh Bawa for the Nalagarh Assembly bye-election seats. A press release issued by the AICC General Secretary Venu Gopal announced the names of Verma and Bawa . The BJP former MLA, Narender Thakur, and Lakhvinder Singh Rana were keen to fight on Congress ticket but the party decided to go with its cadre Bye-election is scheduled for Nalagarh, Dehra and Hamirpur seat on July 10 due to the resignation by Independent MLAs KL Thakur, Hoshiyar Singh Chambiyal, and Ashish Sharma. All three are now fighting on the BJP ticket. The victory of three candidates may help Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to gain political ground following the rebel of six Congress MLAs who recently cross voted and later disqualified under the anti-defection law.
