New Delhi, May 20 (Reporter) The Congress on Monday strongly condemned the vandalising of hoardings and writing of indecent remarks against party president Mallikarjun Kharge at the West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee (WBPCC) office and warned of strict action against those involved in it.
Party General Secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal in a statement here said that such act tantamount to grave anti-party activities and the party will not tolerate such public display of defiance and indiscipline.
The party has directed the General Secretary in-charge of West Bengal to immediately submit a factual report into the incident.
“It has been brought to our notice that a few office bearers and workers of the Congress have made certain uncharitable remarks against the Hon’ble Congress President in media as well as on social media,” Venugopal said.
The Congress leader said, “Acts of vandalising the hoardings outside of the WBPCC office have also been carried out by certain miscreants. This has hurt the sentiments of millions of party workers and supporters. We are taking a very serious note of such grave anti-party activities. The Congress shall not tolerate such public display of defiance and indiscipline”.
