Bengaluru, Oct 20 (Reporter) Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy has predicted that the current Congress government in Karnataka will not last until 2028. Speaking on Saturday, October 19, Kumaraswamy claimed that growing dissatisfaction among Congress MLAs and the public would soon lead to the downfall of the state government.
He also expressed his readiness to serve as Chief Minister again if given the opportunity.
"The Congress government in Karnataka will not last until 2028. The people and MLAs of the state will bring it down," Kumaraswamy stated, adding that his party was not involved in any conspiracy to destabilise the current government. "There is increasing dissatisfaction among Congress MLAs. It's not us, but the public and their own MLAs who are toppling the foundation of this government."
The former CM also criticised the Congress administration for its alleged mismanagement and failure to allocate sufficient funds to its MLAs, preventing them from engaging with their constituencies. "MLAs are unable to visit villages and interact with the people due to a lack of funds," he said. "If the people want, I will become the Chief Minister again before 2028."
Reflecting on his own tenure, Kumaraswamy recalled that his 14-month administration, while influenced by another party, was still remembered for its public welfare programmes. He emphasised that Karnataka, being a prosperous state, could implement reforms allowing people to earn Rs 10,000 instead of receiving small government handouts of Rs 2,000. "If given a chance again, I will do great work," he asserted.
Kumaraswamy also accused the present government of looting public money and confiscating state property, warning that such practices would have long-term consequences if not addressed...////...
